The night sky walks between the lines of houses

The night sky walks between the lines of houses

by Marin Angel Lazarov

The night sky walks between the lines of houses,

The Great Bear floats above the roof,

Leading daughters in dark dresses by the hand,

And smiling...

We breathe so diligently in our beds,

covered with blankets, bare feet tucked close to our bodies,

so meek, rosy, sweet, timid,

that it is not difficult to forgive us.

Who will hear the blows and curses of dark battles,

the chase of horror, bitter reproaches?

From the thickets of sleep - the breath of fires?

That is why we are alone at night.

That is why silver threads flutter at night,

the daughters of darkness playing, that is why,

curled up like snails,

we crawl along the path of dreams and are forgiven.
